Accreditations

The GBI Division of Forensic Sciences maintains two laboratory accreditations: ASCLD/LAB Legacy accreditation through the American Society of Crime Laboratory Directors/Laboratory Accreditation Board and ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation through Forensic Quality Services-International.

The National Association of Medical Examiners (NAME) is the national professional organization of physician medical examiners, medical death investigators and death investigation system administrators who perform the official duties of the medicolegal investigation of deaths of public interest in the United States.

A System of ASCLD/LAB Accredited Laboratories
The Crime Laboratory Accreditation Programs of the American Society of Crime Laboratory Directors/Laboratory Accreditation Board (ASCLD/LAB) are voluntary programs in which any crime laboratory may participate to demonstrate that its management, personnel, operational and technical procedures, equipment and physical facilities meet established standards.

ISO/IEC 17025 Accredited Laboratory System
Forensic Quality Services-International (FQS-I) is the country's longest established provider of ISO accreditation to Forensic Science testing laboratories in the U.S.
